DragTheBar Review
Drag the Bar may be a newcomer to the online poker training site market –officially launching in early 2010– but the fledgling site has entered with guns blazing. Not only do they possess a strong coaching team to begin with, but Drag the Bar was able to lure away StoxPoker’s lead instructor, Dusty “Leatherass” Schmidt.
With a solid 230 videos to choose from, members of Drag the Bar will find a lot more than strategic videos on the site. Drag the Bar not only gives its members strategic concepts to mull over, but also pays a good deal of attention to the mental side of the game through their resident psychologist Jared Tendler, who has helped some of the biggest names in poker overcome downturns in their careers.
The content on Drag the Bar focuses on No Limit Holdem poker training, but the site also has a good selection of videos for PLO, Sit & Go’s, and Multi-Table tournaments. Additionally, Drag the Bar’s math wizard is Bill Robertie –who was Dan Harrington’s co-author in the wildly successful Harrington on Holdem series—and Robertie has added some videos in his area of expertise, Backgammon! So if you like backgammon as well as poker, Drag the Bar has a champion player that can help improve your game.

Target Population
Drag the Bar focuses on low-limit and struggling mid-limit poker players, although there is enough advanced content on the site to help just about any player, no matter how high they play. The addition of Dusty Schmidt shows the site’s willingness to take Drag the Bar to the level of an all-around training site for every game and limit–since this is exactly the type of site Schmidt is coming from, and helped build.
Unique Features
What separates Drag the Bar’s videos from other online poker training sites is their post-video quizzes. Each video has a quiz which can be taken where players are tested on the important concepts discussed in the video.
Additionally, Drag the Bar also uses the “series” format for a good portion of their videos. Having series allows players to learn the game in a natural progression, or to focus on certain areas of their game that need work. A few of Drag the Bar’s series are “leakfinder”, and “LAG vs. TAG”.

Overall
Drag the Bar is an up-and-comer in the online poker training genre, and with one of the best instruction teams the site will definitely help you turn your game around. While Drag the Bar doesn’t possess the 1,000+ videos offered on other sites, they have a decent amount and are constantly adding new videos; and realistically, how many videos can a person watch! The site came online in late 2009, and already has 230 or so videos.
