DeepStacks Uni is a poker training site fronted by none other than Mike ‘TheMouth’ Matusow. Team DeepStacks offers poker training in terms of interactive modules. These modules are a lot shorter than most poker training videos that you find elsewhere, but some people firmly believe the interactive feature is a more effective method of learning.

DeepStacks University is an ambitious undertaking by group of poker pros that attempts to replicate the “Boot Camp” type events that the instructors hold for the WPT and other poker organizations. Most, if not all, of the coaching team at DeepStacks University have taught at these Boot Camp events, and are highly respected in the poker world for their valuable insights to the game.
Even though DeepStacks Uni is one of the newest entries into the online poker training market, the site’s high-profile instruction team, innovative format, and exceptional production quality have already made them a major player in the marketplace.
The site already boasts a library of close to 250 videos, and is expanding at a rapid pace. Currently the site focuses on No Limit Holdem poker training, both cash and tournaments, and has both a PLO and Omaha 8 section listed as “coming soon”.
Target Population
DeepStacks University is geared toward new players, and struggling low-limit players. Their goal of the site is to teach these players the game of poker from the ground up; at no point does the site take for granted that a concept is common knowledge.
Although mid stakes players will also learn a lot from the site; the site’s format, and content, benefits new and low-limit players the most.

Unique Features
DeepStacks University utilizes a series of shorter videos (called modules) where the student will be asked to interact with the coach in the video. Setup as a Hand Replayer with the coach in the sidebar speaking directly to you, the video will be paused at key points so the instructor can pose a question to you, which you will then answer as a multiple choice test.
You will be graded for each lesson you complete –based on the number of correct/incorrect answers you gave throughout the module– and acquire points “credits” as you complete the lessons.
The great part of this interaction is that when you choose an incorrect answer the instructor will explain “why” it is incorrect, and even go so far as telling you how badly incorrect it is –a different reason for every wrong choice. Also, you are allowed to put what you are learning to the test, instead of having a coach lecture you as to what should be done in certain situations.
Coaching Team
DeepStacks University has one of the best –and highest profile– coaching teams of any training site. With 16 WSOP bracelets, and over $30 million in tournament winnings it’s hard to argue with the results. Additionally, the site features a terrific mix of old-school and new-school type players, to give players a few different perspectives to look at.

In this DeepStacks University review we admit it is a very innovative site that is attempting to take online poker training to a new level. The site really raises the bar in terms of interaction and video quality, and is on par with any online poker training site in terms of their instruction team’s knowledge and teaching ability. All in all a subscription to Deepstacks University is great value for money.
